You’ve no doubt by now heard of Google+. For the uninitiated, Google+ is Google’s foray into the world of social networking. Think of it as a Facebook competitor, though there are lots of differences between the 2 services.
We’ve been using Google+ personally since soon after its launch last year. We’ve also been using Google+ Pages (a bit like Facebook Pages for business) both for clients and for some of our own internal marketing projects. We actually really love Google+, and think (along with others) that a Google+ strategy is quickly going to be essential for everyone marketing their business on the internet.
However, it’s taken us a while to get round to setting up our own Google+ page. So drum roll please… here’s the brand new Woof Google+ page!
Relax, there isn’t a great deal to see, yet. We’ll be using the page to do what Google+ does best: sharing interesting updates, news and tips from the world of digital marketing.
Today is the day I wave goodbye for 3 months to my esteemed business partner, good friend and one half of Woof, Mr Gareth Hanson.
He’s heading off to live in Singapore for a while due to his girlfriend heading out to work there. I’d love to say he’s busy setting up the Woof Singapore office, but that wouldn’t quite be true…
In any case, one half of Woof will be missed! Thanks to the wonders of email and Skype, it’ll be pretty much business as usual for the next 3 months anyway, we’ll just be catching up at opposite ends of the working day.
London, New York, Paris, Munich, Singapore, errr… Hull!
Rather than the usual couple of speakers talking for 40 minutes or so each, this one’s a little more novel. There’s an open invitation to anyone to come and talk for 10 minutes each (maximum) about what’s exciting them about the coming year and what they’re working on right now that’s pushing the envelope (for them at least).
While we’re not developers, we’ve so dramatically changed our approach to online marketing these last few months that we eagerly snapped up the invitation to talk about where we’re going, why we’ve changed things around so much, and how our methods can be carried out by anyone (including all you developers rolling out new apps that need promoting!).
Sure we can cram all that into 10 minutes…
If you’re hopping along, see you there! Fudge Cafe, Princes Avenue, Hull, 6:30pm, 26th January 2011.
Hi folks. We’d like to warmly wish all our friends, clients and colleagues a very happy and healthy new year! It’s fair to say we’re very much looking forward to the coming year.
It’s been a rollercoaster time for Woof so far. It was just 18 months ago that Gareth and I first dabbled with running our own private online marketing projects and since then things have gone from strength to strength. Heck, I look back now and shake my head in disbelief at how much we’ve learnt and how far we’ve come.
The end of 2010 also marked a major milestone for us in that Woof officially became a partnership. While myself and Gareth have been working together on Woof projects for a good long while, it’s only very recently he made the brave move to leave his rather cushy job as MD of a new media agency and go full time Woof. No more 70-80 hour weeks for Mr Hanson anymore!
Working with my good friend Gareth is nothing new for me, of course, but ‘officially’ working closely together is very very exciting indeed. So excuse me while I give us both a congratulatory slap on the back and wish us both well for the future. We can’t wait to get started.
I’m really looking forward to speaking at humberMUD this Thursday (16th September). My talk will be on ‘Relevancy: How to Win the Search Engine Wars’ and will discuss why ‘relevance’ is so important to search engine rankings, and what you can do to be more relevant than your competition.
I’m particularly excited about seeing the wonderful new venue – Fruit, which everyone who’s been raves about.
We posted a few months ago that we were fully booked and couldn’t take on any more clients for the time-being.
I’m pleased to say that we now have availability again. This is basically due to many of our first clients having reached their goals (great news!) so we now have limited slots open again.
If you (or anyone you know) would like help with online marketing, or want to figure out how best to use social media for your business, or need a hand ranking on page 1 of Google, please get in touch.
I’ve just been checking visitor numbers for a client’s website. We’ve been working with this particular client for just over a month, a business that has been struggling to get any decent traffic to their website for over 2 years now.
It was a nice surprise to see that visitor numbers are up a whopping 4291.67% on the previous month!
When you think that for the past year the percentage change in their monthly visitor numbers has either been flat (0%) or have even fallen (a negative percentage), this is an especially great result.
I really don’t mean to brag, but it’d be remiss of me not to give ourselves a small pat on the back.
