Should you optimise one page for multiple keywords? No (but it also depends…)

by on October 26, 2010

At Woof we're big believers in giving our clients the best possible chance of ranking for their target keywords. To be fair, wouldn't anyone want that?

To do that, we generally recommend creating one page per target keyword.

Why? Because you'll then have a perfectly optimised page for each keyword, thus giving you more relevance for each term.

However, there are also occasions when it's acceptable to attempt to target multiple keywords on one page (though we'd still advise to do this with caution…)

If it's a concept you're struggling to understand, this excellent article on 'Targeting Multiple Keywords vs. Singular Keyword Focus' covers the issue really well.
